Starting in August of 2026, we plan to meet on the first and third Sundays of each month for a period of three hours at a to-be-determined time and location.
Welcome!
WHAT IS TWIN CITY TRANSFEMS?
There are over 30,000 trans women and transfems in the state of Illinois, and it is our mission to help bring a few of them together.
Twin City Transfems is a social club with the purpose of being a casual environment for the trans women and transfems of Bloomington-Normal to come together and engage in community with each other.
WHAT SETS US APART?
What sets Twin City Transfems apart from other community groups you might already be familiar with is twofold:
By Transfems, For Transfems
That’s right! Twin City Transfems is not an all-gender trans group or a trans "inclusive" women’s group, we are the only group in Central Illinois dedicated to and purpose-built for trans women and transfems.
Truly Local Roots
Grassroots, one might say! Yes, Twin City Transfems is not a branch of any larger nationwide organization; we are a social club born and bred in Bloomington-Normal, and our members are beholden to nobody but each other.
Who's running this whole thing anyway?
Hi there! I'm Brie Byers, I've been actively involved in community engagement since the summer of 2024, and I started Twin City Transfems to build what I always wanted to see in my community: a place where trans women and transfems in Bloomington-Normal can find and engage in community with each other.
